About This Experience

The 7.5-Hour Low Isles Adventure Cruise is Sailaway's most comprehensive Low Isles tour, designed for guests who want a full day to experience the Great Barrier Reef at an unhurried pace. Over 7.5 hours, you'll enjoy up to five hours exploring the World Heritage-listed Low Isles Coral Cay with guided snorkelling, a marine biologist-led reef tour, a solar-electric glass-bottom boat cruise and a heritage island walk. Unlike the shorter afternoon tour, this experience includes a tropical buffet lunch and extended time both on the island and in the water, allowing you to discover Low Isles in greater depth.

The Low Isles Coral Cay Experience

Your day begins at the Sailaway Boathouse at Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, where you'll board the luxury catamaran and enjoy tea, coffee and freshly baked pastries before setting sail across the Coral Sea. During the relaxed one-hour journey to Low Isles, take in the ocean views as the crew prepares you for the day's reef activities.

On arrival, you'll be transferred ashore by a quiet solar-electric glass-bottom boat, offering your first glimpse of the colourful coral beneath the surface. Join a marine biologist for a guided snorkel through the coral gardens, where you'll learn about the reef's diverse marine life while receiving in-water assistance if needed. Full snorkelling equipment, flotation devices and optical masks are provided, making the experience suitable for both beginners and confident snorkellers.

With around five hours at Low Isles, you'll have plenty of time to explore at your own pace. Join a guided walk to the island's historic lighthouse, relax beneath the coconut palms, wander the sandy beaches or return to the water for more snorkelling in the sheltered lagoon. Back on board, enjoy a tropical buffet lunch featuring fresh prawns, followed later by afternoon tea with homemade cakes as the catamaran sails back to Port Douglas. A fully licensed bar is available throughout the cruise if you'd like to purchase additional drinks.

Who Is This Cruise Best Suited For

This cruise is a great choice for first-time reef visitors, families and couples looking to combine guided snorkelling, island exploration and marine wildlife interpretation without the pace of an Outer Reef adventure. With glass-bottom boat viewing, sheltered snorkelling and expert guidance, the experience caters equally well to confident swimmers and those who prefer to enjoy the reef at a gentler pace.
