Hobart has a variety of public transport that makes getting around the city easy:

Metro buses are the primary public transport for local travel within Hobart. You can purchase a Metro Greencard or buy a single ticket onboard. Greencards are available from Greencard agents and the Metro shop on Elizabeth Street. Use the Trip Planner tool or Hobart Network Guide to plan your route.

Other public transport facilities available are ferries that operate services between Hobart’s Brooke Street Pier & Bellerie Pier. 

Several taxi companies also operate in Hobart, including Uber and GoCatch. A hop-on, hop-off double-decker bus also runs, giving tourists a great way to see Hobart’s city attractions. A 24 or 48 hour ticket can be purchased.

There is an extensive network of bike paths across the city, like the Intercity Cycleway. Hire of e-scooters, e-bikes and bicycles is available from Hobart Bike Hire or from apps like Beam and Neuron for shared e-scooters.

Salamanca Market, held every Saturday, is open from 8.30 pm to 3 pm. It features over 300 stalls selling local Tasmanian produce, handmade products, food and more! Visit during the mornings to avoid the crowd.
