Here, 170-million-year-old dolerite columns rise dramatically more than 250 metres above the ocean’s surface.   • Check-in: Check in at the Port Arthur Historic Site entrance at least 15 minutes prior to departure (10:35 am for 10:45 am departure; 1:00 pm for 1:15 pm departure), then walk down to the cruise departure point at the jetty.

Morning Departure
  • 10:35 am: Check-in at the Port Arthur Historic Site entrance and walk down to the jetty.
  • 10:45 am: Depart on the 90-minute wilderness cruise to Cape Raoul.

It can be cold out on the water year-round. We recommend wearing warm layered clothing, a windproof jacket, gloves, and a beanie. Complimentary wet-weather jackets are also provided on board over your warm clothes.

Where do I park my car for the cruise?

Yes, children of all ages are welcome aboard. Parents are the best judge of how their children handle open water, but most kids love watching the seals, coastal birds and massive cliffs.

Are there restrooms available on board the boat?
Restroom and toilet facilities are available at the main Port Arthur Historic Site prior to boarding. Please ensure you use the facilities at the visitor centre before walking down to the jetty.
