About This Experience

This full-day guided Bruny Island Day Trip from Hobart connects Hobart travellers with the coastal wilderness of South Bruny Island, combining coach transport, a ferry crossing, guided island sightseeing, morning tea, lunch and a three-hour eco-wilderness cruise. The included coach and ferry transfers make it easy to experience Bruny Island by land and water without having to drive yourself.

South Bruny Exploration & Coastal Cruise
Your tour starts at Franklin Wharf in central Hobart, where you’ll meet your guide before heading south towards the coast in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach. After crossing the D’Entrecasteaux Channel by Sealink ferry, your bus ride continues to Adventure Bay. After morning tea at a local restaurant, you will board the wilderness cruise.

The three-hour cruise takes you along Bruny Island’s spectacular southern coastline aboard a purpose-built open-air boat. With clear views all around, you’ll cruise past towering sea cliffs, sea caves, blowholes and rocky islands while keeping an eye out for local wildlife. Look for Australian fur seals at The Friars, dolphins playing alongside the boat and seabirds along the coast. If you’re visiting during whale migration season, you may also spot whales passing through the waters.

After the cruise, you’ll return to shore for a hot lunch at an Adventure Bay restaurant, followed by guided sightseeing around some of Bruny Island’s iconic spots, including The Neck and Adventure Bay, before returning to Hobart in the early evening.

Who Is This Experience Best Suited For
This full-day package is best suited for travellers staying in Hobart who want a complete day trip with all transport, guided island sightseeing, morning tea and lunch fully included.
