About This Experience
Roebuck Bay in Broome is home to a sunken armada of flying boats from World War II. This large and rare collection of historically significant flying boats are fully visible at low tide and can be seen only 23 times a year! With this exclusive plane wreck tour, you can explore these remnants that lie on the sea floor on Roebuck Bay.
The shallow draft boat, ‘Brahminy Kite’, will take you to the location of the wrecks, where you can disembark and continue on foot. Broome has the fourth highest tidal range in the world – experience this incredible tidal movement first hand! Explore the wrecks as you listen to the stories behind these planes and the damage caused by the war.
Enjoy onboard refreshments including hot tea, coffee, pastries, sparkling wine and cheese and fruit platters. For your convenience, coach transfers to and from your accommodation are included in the tour.
