Sightseeing Cruise Down Brisbane River
Board the MV Neptune at the Cultural Centre Pontoon and settle in for a leisurely cruise through the heart of Brisbane towards Newstead. Listen to live commentary that gives you insights into the city's riverside landmarks and enjoy a traditional Devonshire tea with freshly baked scones with jam, cream and strawberries. Guests can also sample the exclusive ‘Beer off the Wood’, a cask-conditioned beer available only to River City Cruises passengers. Lunch At Breakfast Creek Hotel
The vessel arrives at the Newstead Pontoon, just a short walk from the historic Breakfast Creek Hotel. You have approximately two hours to enjoy lunch at your own pace, selecting from the hotel's extensive à la carte menu featuring classic pub favourites, steaks, seafood and lighter meals. No additional reservation is required before returning to the pontoon to reboard for the relaxing cruise back to the city.

Cultural Centre Public Pontoon

The pontoon sits roughly 50m upstream of the Victoria Bridge and 300m upstream of the Wheel of Brisbane, directly in front of the Cultural Centre precinct (home to the Museum and State Library).

  • 10:15/10:30am: Board at the Cultural Centre Pontoon, cruise toward Newstead with live commentary and Devonshire tea onboard
  • 11:15am: Dock at the Newstead Pontoon and walk across the pedestrian bridge to Breakfast Creek Hotel
  • Order lunch directly from the venue menu and relax at the hotel
  • 1:15pm: Return to the Newstead Pontoon to reboard for the cruise back

  • An individual booking is defined as all bookings having less than 10 passengers on a single E-ticket. Individual bookings require full payment at time of booking.

Do I need to book a table at Breakfast Creek Hotel?
No separate booking is required. Guests are dropped at the Newstead Pontoon and walk to the hotel, where lunch is ordered directly from the venue menu.

What is Beer off the Wood?
It is a cask-conditioned beer served straight from the wood, offered as an exclusive sample to River City Cruises passengers during the cruise.

How much time do we get at Breakfast Creek Hotel?
Guests have approximately two hours ashore, from the 11:15am drop-off at Newstead Pontoon to the 1:15pm return boarding time.

  • The boutique-style vessel carries up to 65 guests, with covered upper deck and indoor seating for 42
  • A licensed bar and bathroom facilities are available onboard
  • Guests must be back at the Newstead Pontoon by 1:15pm for the return cruise; the boat cannot wait for late arrivals
