This Cruise Whitsundays Whitehaven Beach experience is one of the easiest and most flexible ways to experience the Whitsundays' most iconic destination. Located on Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands that make up the Whitsundays, Whitehaven Beach is renowned for its brilliant white silica sand and crystal-clear waters. Departing from Airlie Beach, Daydream Island or Hamilton Island, this scenic cruise combines a relaxing journey through the islands with up to two hours to explore one of Australia's most celebrated beaches. 

The Whitsunday Island Experience
Your adventure begins with a picturesque cruise through Whitsunday Passage and into a tropical seascape of secluded bays, forested islands and sparkling blue waterways. As you travel through the heart of the Whitsundays, you'll pass some of the region's most beautiful coastal scenery, with every turn revealing another hidden beach or sheltered inlet. The journey is as much a part of the experience as the destination itself.

Arriving at the southern end of Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island, you'll have up to two hours to enjoy this world-famous stretch of coastline at your own pace. Swim in the calm waters, wander along the pristine shoreline or simply relax on the soft silica sand. If you’d like a little more exploration, the short Solway Circuit walking track rewards you with elevated views over the beach and surrounding bays. Stinger suits are provided, and refreshments are available for purchase from the beach bar.

Please note that this tour visits the southern end of Whitehaven Beach and does not include Hill Inlet or the Hill Inlet Lookout.

  • A ‘no-show’ refers to any confirmed passenger who fails to board the vessel prior to scheduled departure. Please note, we make every effort to ensure our cruises depart on time. It is highly recommended that all passengers are ready for boarding 15 minutes prior to the stated time.
  • An individual booking is defined as all bookings having less than 10 passengers on a single E-ticket. Individual bookings require full payment at time of booking.
  • Up to 4 days prior: Full refund
  • Within 3 days: 100% cancellation fee
  • Group bookings are defined as all bookings for 10 or more passengers on a single E-ticket. Group bookings can be made with a partial payment of 20% as deposit. The balance amount must be paid 7 days before the cruise date.

Does this cruise visit Hill Inlet?
No. This half-day cruise visits the southern end of Whitehaven Beach only. Hill Inlet requires a separate boat transfer and is not included on this tour.

Can I snorkel at Whitehaven Beach?
No. There is no coral reef directly off Whitehaven Beach. Snorkelling equipment is not provided on this tour.

Can I swim at Whitehaven Beach?
Yes. Guests can swim, relax on the beach or take a short walk to the Southern Whitehaven Beach Lookout.

What are the bar rules onboard?
Full bar service is available from 10:00am. A beach bar is also set up at Whitehaven Beach. BYO alcohol is not permitted onboard, though guests may bring their own eskies to the beach.

Are there additional departure options?
Yes. In addition to Port of Airlie, departures are available from Daydream Island and Hamilton Island on both the morning and afternoon cruise. Please advise at time of booking.

Will I have phone reception or WiFi onboard?
Phone reception is available intermittently at the start of the journey only. There is no WiFi onboard Cruise Whitsundays vessels.

  • In the unlikely event of northerly winds, the vessel master may direct the cruise to an alternate beach location
  • BYO alcohol is not permitted onboard. Guests are welcome to bring their own eskies to the beach
  • Full bar service is available onboard from 10:00am
  • Phone reception is intermittent early in the journey and unavailable further out in the Whitsundays
  • No WiFi available onboard
  • Cancellation Policy: Full refund up to 72 hours (local time) before cruise date. After 72 hours: 100% cancellation fee applies.
