About This Experience

The Port Stephens outer islands sit within a protected marine park and the 3.5hr Island Snorkelling Adventure is the most direct route into it. The ‘Envision’, a fast 40ft power cat, departs from Dock C at D’Albora Marina, with a small group of guests for a personalised Port Stephens snorkelling experience guided by a qualified local expert. The destination, whether Broughton Island, Cabbage Tree Island or Fingal Island, is chosen on the day based on weather and sea conditions, so you are always heading to the best possible spot.

The Snorkelling Adventure Experience

The waters around Port Stephens’ outer islands are sheltered, clear and teeming with marine life. Your expert guide, armed with deep local knowledge of the islands and the marine park, will walk you through what to expect: the species you might encounter, the reef structures worth exploring, and how to move through the water in a way that leaves everything undisturbed.
Masks, fins and snorkels are provided on board, so you can gear up before getting in the water. With outstanding underwater visibility, there’s a good chance you will see Wobbegongs rest motionless on the sandy floor, rays glide between coral formations and schools of fish move through sponge gardens.
If you’re not keen on snorkelling, you can still enjoy the scenery and relax in the shallows. Are you ready to book your Port Stephens island snorkelling adventure now?
Who Is This Experience Suited For
This adventure is open to guests aged 4 years and over and is best suited to competent swimmers comfortable in open water. The guided small-group format makes it easily accessible for first-timers as well as experienced snorkellers, and the option to stay in the shallows means non-snorkellers can still take part in the day. Families with older children, couples, groups of friends and underwater photographers will find this one of the most rewarding experiences Port Stephens has to offer.
