Boarding commences 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. During peak periods, we recommend arriving 30–45 mins early to allow time for parking. 



 

  • 1:45pm / 10:45am: Check in at Dock C, D’Albora Marina — look for the RED boat at the start of Dock C
  • 2:00pm / 11:00am: Depart D’Albora Marina aboard ‘Envision’ and head out into the waters of Port Stephens
  • En Route: Cruise in search of resident wild Bottlenose Dolphins with live informative and entertaining commentary; take in the spectacular coastal scenery of Port Stephens’ headlands and harbour
  • En Route: Dolphins located; observe the pod in their natural habitat as your guide shares insights into behaviour and the marine ecology of Port Stephens

1.5hr Dolphin Discovery Cruise (see alternate package): Dolphin sightings in the Eastern Harbour + boom net on return. No open-water swimming. Ideal for families, younger children and relaxed cruisers. Runs year-round.

2hr Splash 'N Slide Cruise (see alternate package): Dolphin sightings + open-water waterslide + boom net on return. Recommended for confident swimmers. November to April.

  • Cancellation requests must be submitted via email to help@australiancruisegroup.com.au
  • Refunds, where applicable, will be processed to the original payment method.
  • No correspondence will be entertained for cancellations made after the free-cancellation period.
  • A ‘no-show’ refers to any confirmed passenger who fails to board the vessel prior to scheduled departure. Please note, we make every effort to ensure our cruises depart on time. It is highly recommended that all passengers are ready for boarding 15 minutes prior to the stated time.
  • An individual booking is defined as all bookings having less than 10 passengers on a single E-ticket. Individual bookings require full payment at time of booking.
  • Up to 4 days prior: Full refund
  • Within 3 days: 100% cancellation fee
  • Group bookings are defined as all bookings for 10 or more passengers on a single E-ticket. Group bookings can be made with a partial payment of 20% as deposit. The balance amount must be paid 7 days before the cruise date.

What happens if dolphins aren’t sighted?
Port Stephens dolphins are wild, so while sightings are very common, 100% success cannot be guaranteed. If dolphins are not located, we offer a complimentary return voucher (non-transferable). Refunds are not issued if dolphins are not sighted.

Can I book a private charter?
Yes. ‘Envision’ is available for exclusive private charter for up to 14 guests.  This is ideal for families, groups and special occasions. Please enquire at the time of booking.

When does this cruise operate?
The Dolphin Watch Express operates November to May. The 2:00pm departure runs daily throughout this period. The 11:00am departure is available on select dates. During Summer school holidays, select dates offer both 2:00pm and 3:30pm departures.

How is this different from the other dolphin cruises?
The Dolphin Watch Express is a fast, intimate, small-group experience aboard ‘Envision’,  a purpose-built eco-vessel with 360° uninterrupted viewing. There are no water activities on this cruise. The 1.5hr Dolphin Discovery Cruise offers a longer experience with boom net rides, and the 2hr Splash ‘N Slide Cruise adds an open-water waterslide.

Where do I meet the boat?
Head to Dock C, D’Albora Marina, Teramby Rd, Nelson Bay. Look for the RED boat at the start of Dock C. Boarding opens 15 minutes before departure.

Is smoking allowed?
No. Smoking is not permitted on board this vesse.

Where can I park?
Paid parking is available at D’Albora Marina and Victoria Parade (up to 4 hours at the Marina; up to 8 hours on Victoria Parade, operating 8:30am–4:30pm). Free unlimited parking is available on Laman Street, Church Street and Magnus Street, all within walking distance. Pay by card, coin or the Park’n Pay app.
