About This Experience

The 2-hour Coffs Harbour whale watch experience unfolds on board the Pacific Explorer during the Humpback whale migration season along the NSW coastline, where you can sight whales within 15 minutes of leaving the harbour. This intimate whale watch experience carries a maximum of 23 passengers, meaning you'll never feel like you're jostling for space or straining for a view; every spot on board feels front row. The crew regales you with informative commentary, giving you context and stories that turn a great sighting into a memorable experience.

Running from June through to early November, this is your window to witness one of nature's most spectacular annual events – the Humpback migration along the NSW coast. You could be enjoying this with family, friends, or as a couple; irrespective, this is the kind of morning that reframes your whole trip.

Why choose this whale watching cruise?

  • One of Australia's best whale watching locations: The Coffs Coast sits within the Solitary Islands Marine Park, directly on the path of the annual Humpback Whale migration from Antarctica, making it one of the most convenient places to see whales up close.
  • Reliable departures, season after season: Unlike many East Coast departure points where sandbars create dangerous swells and trigger cancellations, Coffs Harbour's deep-water access harbour means the Pacific Explorer can depart safely and consistently throughout the entire migration season.
  • Built for comfort: The Pacific Explorer’s wide hull and low centre of gravity ensures a smooth, stable ride, so you can focus on the whales, not the waves.

So, if you're looking for the ultimate whale watch experience in Coffs Harbour, this is it… raw, real and utterly unforgettable. Book this cruise today; spots are strictly limited to 23 passengers per departure!
